Thursday Night Bible Study

Participants

The Thursday night study group is a co-ed meeting of adults across all generations.  Regular attendees consist of singles, couples, and parents alike.  Child care services are provided with advance notice.  You will find most participants are eager to learn more about their faith, the Bible, and the world around them.  No level of previous expereince or knowledge is required or expected, we are all learning together.

Study Topics

As of Fall 2011 the group is studying Who Are We, a guide of the United Methodist Church. Past studies include, but are not limited to:

  • Spring 2011: Twelve Ordinary Men - an exploration into the twelve discipels
  • Fall 2010: Acts - a thorough study of the book of Acts
  • Spring 2010: The Gospels

A Typical Evening

Participants arrive around 6:30pm and trickle in as time allows.  A pot luck (typically themed) dinner starts shortly thereafter.  Participants who like are asked to share their souls with the group as a way of growing together through times of happiness and times of need. After dinner we start study for an average of one hour.  This includes recaps of past lessons, asking and answering study-related questions as well as sharing of personal, congregational, and worldly experiences related to the study.

More Information

The group meets Thursdays promptly at 6:30pm and are typically held at the home of Doug and Tori Waffen.  Contact the church office, a regular group attendee, or a pastor for more information.  We would love to have you join us.
