Briggs Christie began leading the Praise Band in April of 2007 and brings with him a background in contemporary and traditional worship ensembles as well as experience in both musical and dramatic theater. He can be found playing a guitar, bass, banjo, drums, keyboards or his trusty baritone ukulele as part of the Praise Band's diverse selection of music. Also a member of the Sanctuary Choir and a part-time player in KUMC's dixieland-style "Hymncats", Briggs enjoys immersing himself in music. Currently employed at Hawaiian Airlines, he is also the President of the Windward Choral Society, a 90-voice Kailua-based choir. He and his wife Carol moved to Kailua in 1999.
